And in this perfect weather, we’ll find a place together…

My patience with this weather is fading quickly.  I resolved to be content with days spent inside taking advantage of the time to be lazy, productive, creative or a combination of all.  Today I find myself moving from task to task getting sidetracked along the way leading to just about nothing getting done overall.  That’s right, I’m about as unfocussed as that sentence sounds.  Of course what this world needs less right now is more complaining about the weather so I will get on with the real point of this post.  The point being is that one diversion actually led me to something wonderful.  Two things actually- snuggling with Sophia with a good book and finding a new website that helps identify fonts.  After days of glancing at Sophia’s latest library book and knowing I should be reading it to her we finally got a chance to snuggle up and read a couple chapters.  That would have been a treat in itself- she is such a great snuggler- but the book itself is pretty cute too.  The book is Mercy Watson Goes for a Ride.  Something about it just attracts me…

I started to really look at the cover, text and illustrations and realized how much I loved the fonts that were used.  That led me to search the internet for a similar font which brought me to the site www.identifont.com.  I was doubtful at first but through a series of questions regarding sample text that you provide, similar to the electronic game 20 questions, it comes up with the  font in question.  I now know that my new favorite font is called Zephyr.  I love when technology works in my favor!  Downside to this is now I feel like I must have this font in my collection and I can’t find it cheaper than $20.  This probably has something to do with the fact that it happens to also be the font used on the Twilight cover- weird, I know!  Anyhow, if you like fonts this is a fun thing to try and apparently it works!  Let me know if you try it and please share any favorite fonts you may have (especially if they’re free)!
