From “To Do”-to “Done”

Just a little post about labeling hampers, one of the projects that got crossed off my “To Do” list today. Any person with more than one person living in the house can attest to the vast amount of laundry that accumulates throughout the week. So it shouldn’t be surprising that as a mom of four I find it super important to be as organized and efficient about this chore as possible. When we moved into this house I took advantage of the closets in both bathrooms and made them “sorting stations” for dirty laundry. The kids did surprising well with this overall but time & time again I found myself having to replace the ripped and falling apart mesh type laundry baskets we were using. One day while at Walmart looking to replace yet another set I came across these plastic hampers. At about $8 a piece they were a little more than I wanted to spend but in the name of organization I decided to give them a try. Fast forward a couple months and they are working great but all along I knew they needed some sprucing up. Here’s how they’ve looked up until this point.

They actually came with those Whites, Darks, Colored labels but I was picturing something with a better font and more colorful. So out came my vinyl and Silhouette Studio and I cut new labels using my Cameo. Here’s how it turned out.
They also just happen to fit PERFECTLY into the linen closet and although they are smaller than what I use to use they hold the perfect amount for a load of laundry.
So this mom’s very happy. I’m sure the kids (at least the boys) will have a different reaction to this though. They tend to grumble and groan when I put more “words” around the house. Oh well, at least my laundry sorting will look nice!!
