Worth the Wait?

Wow, I have been a REALLY bad blogger.  I mean, in blog world I appear to be still searching for my “misplaced life” when in reality nothing could be farther from the truth.  Turns out I didn’t have to look too far to find out that I can survive in the role as stay-at-home mom even when my kids are in school everyday.  Well, almost every day that is- with the exception of days home with the occasional broken bone, the flu or even the rare outbreak of head lice.  Not that I have necessarily experienced all these things but I’m just saying, anything is possible ;)  Suffice it to say that I have found plenty to keep me busy and it makes me appreciate the opportunity I have in making the most important people in my life, my top priority and focus.  Actually, it has been a nice balance between days of buggin’ to get out of the house and days wanting to not step foot outside.  One thing I was dead-on about though was the amazing friends I have that make all those days that much easier to get through.  Thanks, girls!
In addition to filling my days with all the things that come along with managing a family of six, my passion for all things paper has been reignited.  The holiday season provided much opportunity for creativity with cards, display boards and banners which I had a blast making with my trusty Cricut cutting machine.  I also recently got two new Cricut cartridges for my collection:  Wild Card and Paisley~ sooo cute!!  Here are some pics of my projects :)

Here’s the banner I made using my Cricut & Christmas Cheer & Storybook cartridges…

And a card I made using the branch from Wild Card cartridge…

Here’s my “Naughty or Nice” layout for my Creative Memories Everyday Display Board…

I definitely enjoyed pulling my supplies out and using them but all the while I really had my eye set on getting my hands on Sure Cuts A Lot software.  I had been waiting for Version 2 to be released for Mac and when it was I conveniently had some Christmas gift money to purchase it.  OMG- how do I begin to tell you how awesome this program is?!?  In summary I can basically cut anything I find on my computer using my Cricut without the need to buy Cricut cartridges.  Yep, sounds simple and IT IS!!  I have been having so much fun gathering free fonts and making new designs.  And fortunately for whoever reads this blog, I like to share so I will be inclucing some of my .SCUT files so you can use them in your own projects :)  I’m mostly in Valentine Day mode right now but couldn’t resist taking some time to design this window card.

Also, I made a Name Book for a friend’s new baby which I cut using the Cricut & Sure Cuts A Lot (SCAL)

This one is pretty specific as to what name you want to make so I’m planning on doing a video tutorial on how to make it.

In the meantime, if you are interested in finding out more about the software, download a trial version or purchase your own, you can do so from the links to the right.

**Here is the Window Card File for you.
